Allergen Detection I

Prerequisite: None
Time: 2 weeks

Disability: Severe allergic responses

Canine: Any

Allergen Detection I is a service which can be trained for anyone with a severe allergy.  The dog is trained to wear a saddlebag equipped with an epi-pen.  The dog is also trained to recognize the scent of a specific allergen and alert the owner upon presentation.

Allergen Detection II

Prereq.: Allergen Detection I
Time:
1 week

Disability: Same as Allergen Detection I, but with airborne severity

Canine: Any

Allergen Detection II is a service which can be trained for anyone with a severe allergy to even the presence of a specific allergen in the air.  The dog will detect passively and alert the handler upon identifying the known allergen.

DPT II (seizures)

Prerequisite: DPT I
Time:
2.5 weeks

Disability: Seizures

Canine: Medium (35-67 lbs)

DPT II is a service which can be trained for anyone with disorders generating unconsciousness or paralysis.  Like DPT I the dog is trained to lay on the handle, but with full body contact, and until the handler is ready to right themselves.  This is a much-exaggerated version of DPT I and can also be used in fainting disorders or in some seizure situations.

Tasking II (Reminders)

Prerequisite: Tasking I
Time:
3 weeks

Disability: Same as Tasking I + Dissociative disorders

Canine: Any

Tasking II is a service which can be trained for anyone with a long-duration episode which normally prevents the handler from taking medications, eating or drinking.  The dog is trained to interrupt a handler by pawing in response to the handlers need to perform an action.  These can include but are not limited to: Food/Drink reminders, medications reminders (cued by a phone), etc...

Item Retrieval

Prerequisite: None
Time: 2 weeks

Disability: varied

Canine: Medium (35-67lbs)

Item retrieval is a service which can be trained for anyone with a challenge fetching their own medication during an episode.  The dog is trained to retrieve a specific item either in response to the beginning of the handlers episode, or by command word. 

OR

The dog is trained to give something to a nearby person/stranger.

Medical Alert

Prerequisite: None
Time: 4 weeks

Disability: seizures, diabetes, fainting disorders

Canine: Medium (35-67lbs)

Medical Alert is a service which can be trained for anyone with a disorder that can immobilize.  The dog is trained to notify the handler by pawing of the upcoming issue.  The dog is trained to recognize a change in the handlers biochemistry they may not be aware of at the time.  This is a scent training activity.
